Adding an image : Folksy Forum Thread :: Posted by: Hazel on November 7th, 2011
As a web developer and internet consultant I use and have used many types of media, including social media, networks and forums just to give a few examples. I help clients set up such things as twitter, facebook, google plus and google map account plus of course websites and blogs.
As well as setting up these media accounts I am often asked how to use and add things to these resources.
A web designer and developer for my business, I am also an Artist. I paint mostly flowers in encaustic wax and have a website www.artinwax.co.uk which has an online gallery of some of my work.
As part of sharing my artwork I am a member of the arts and crafts forum on a website called Folksy where I am a member and post in the “Arts and ACEO” forums.
The question that arises quiet often in the forum is how a member of the site can add an image from their shop into a post on the forum thread, folksy does have this information in its help forum section however the questions still gets asked. I have posted this answer several times now and thought it might be a good idea to make a blog post in order to have a point of reference for people looking for this information to find.
To add a picture from your shop into a Folksy forum thread
To add a picture from your shop into a thread, you must be in logged in and on the thread you wish to add to, you then reply to the message, adding some code into your post.
The example code below would show my own Blue Anemone from my store.
<a href="http://www.folksy.com/items/2189349-Encaustic-Art-Blue-Anemone">
<img src="http://d200fahol9mbkt.cloudfront.net/item/17829877/HDR_ACEO_blueanemone.jpg" height="250" /> </a>
This piece of code will make a picture from your shop picture show in the thread
and link that picture back to your shop page. But you need to edit bits of it so it will work with each picture you want to add.
1st edit the folksy.com/items/xxxxx bit
This needs to be the address of the page you want to link to in your shop.
See image below with the page URL indicated.
2nd edit the http://d200fahol9mbkt.cloudfront.net/xxxxxxx bit
This needs to be the url from the image on that page. To find this right click the image and copy the “image URL” into this part of the code.
See image below with the image URL indicated and how to copy this code.

Howells and Harrison Website :: Posted by: Hazel on September 21st, 2011
New Website Launched for local business
Howells and Harrison Southend : New Pharmacy Website

The Howells and Harrison website goes live this week! We have designed and built the website for a new client, local Southend on sea pharmacy to give them a online presence for their care in the community services.
The site, including bespoke images and graphics has been designed around the business shop front and colour scheme. The site is just four pages at present but is designed to expand as the client requires, it also includes a interactive map courtesy of Google as an aid to location finding the business.
It was great working with Alison the representative of the business on this project and on an additional offline leaflet to compliment the website.
